a weekend in laiya, san juan batangas

We went to laiya, batanggas last weekend to check out the beaches personally.
Travel time from Ortigas was 3 hours of easy driving, meaning if absoultely no traffic.

There are around 15 beaches. Two stood out. First is the Virgin Beach Resort and second is Laiya Coco grove. We initially wanted to rent Coco Grove because this was the suggestion of our caterer. But we might be getting Virgin Beach Resort because they have a wedding package. Ain't that great!?

The long travel was worth it. They have beautiful beaches in Laiya. Can't wait for March to arrive.

my bloody wedding tagaytay

This event was a let down. It was so disorganized. The shuttle service from Manila to Tagaytay which was scheduled to leave 8am, left around 10:30.Imagine that! If I knew they were going to be so late I would have just taken may car.

We arrived there around 12:30. The exhibit was so dull. There were maybe 12-15 booths. We waited and travelled for almost 5 hours. Most of the exhibitors we've already seen from events here in metro manila. So we really just wasted our time. We didn't wait for the shuttle back to Manila cuz there was nothing left to do. Around 3:30 we took a public bus and arrived in Manila by 6pm. It was sooooo traffic in Cavite... I pity those who live there. It's not even a workday or rush hour.

The only good thing that day was the chocolate fountain from Hizon's. It was yummy.. Hehehe

Went to smartshot studios yesterday and boy was I dissappointed.
They have one of the worst wedding videos I've seen. So cheezy!

Then I got a reply from mangored yesterday. As expected it was pricey. But I think it's worth it. Still waiting for their sample videos though.

So nothing is final yet.

A Bridal Haven

We went to Oasis Manila to checkout another wedding exhibit.

First, about Oasis Manila. It kinda looks like a big Gazeebo Royale. It's ok but the problem is it's right in front of Aurora Blvd. You can hear the jeepney horns.

We met a lot of suppliers. Mostly photographers and caterers. I think we might have found a potential caterer. The catering company is Henry's. They have a gorgeous table setup and are experienced with beach weddings. On May 27, we will be going back to Gazeebo Royal to attend their food tasting event.

Next stop, myweddingintagaytay.

How about a beach wedding?

Gazebo Royale

We went here last Sunday. It's not so spectular, probably because it was daytime. Price is reasonable. Still one of our options.

Caleruega

After months of planning and consulting on how to surprise raquel and ask her hand for marriage, an opportunity came up.

A family outing! She would never suspect that its going to be D-day! It was the perfect plan!

A week before the event I hurriedly bought an engagement ring with the help of Velle.

We arrived at Caleruega around noon. After going out of the car, I asked my cousin to hide the ring. Wrong move! Raquel suddenly appeared. I quickly hid the box inside my cousin's bag. Later that day she told me she saw it but I didn't realize that. So, we were strolling around the area for a couple of minutes while I was waiting for the perfect oppurtunity. When we were going to check out the chapel and I decided that this was the best place to do it. So I signaled everyone to leave us alone. But my back was turned while doing this and she saw me again :( So we went inside the chapel and as I attempted to propose she laughed before I could even say a word. That's when I realized what was happening to my perfect plan. She excused herself for a moment while both of us were laughing. When she came back I immediately proposed so she wouldn't have a chance to laugh again. And after that we laughed again inside the chapel.

I was already expecting things to turn out this way, knowing who I am, I believe you will agree.

That was fun.
